JAMES – SENIOR CAD TECHNICIAN & CI LEADER

James Morrison joined Hawkins in January 2014 as a trainee CAD Technician. Over the past 10 years, James has progressed to his current role as Senior CAD Technician, where he provides drawing works across all of the Hawkins businesses, carrying out site surveys and assisting with the development of projects from concept to construction. The initial design process plays a vital role in construction – this is where our client’s vision comes to life.

As part of his continued progression, he has been appointed to look after continuous improvement, along with collecting comments and feedback from the drawing office and other departments. James also carries out research on how processes and standards can be improved.

“Since I started, Hawkins has continued to grow, but despite this, they never lost the close-knit, caring environment that originally attracted me. I feel grateful, and it is a pleasure to work for a company with a real determination that treats its staff so well. Needless to say, I have never looked back.”

“The growth, attitude and capability of our team to take on more complex and interesting jobs means that there is nothing that we can’t do”

– Matt, Contracts Manager (Hawkins Projects)

RYAN – FABRICATOR & WELDER

Ryan joined Hawkins as a Steel Fabrication Labourer at the age of 16. After three years, Ryan was enrolled on a Steelwork Fabrication apprenticeship programme and started attending college one day a week.

As he worked through his apprenticeship, his technical knowledge and skillset continued to grow and over the years has become a valued member of the specialist fabrication team.

“I joined Hawkins in 2019 as a Contracts Manager in the Roofing department, having previously been a Site Manager. I ‘ve learnt a huge amount in a relatively short space of time, but the training and development offered and the support provided by Hawkins has made the transition a lot easier. Being part of a growing company that looks to improve on a daily basis means that no 2 days are ever the same..”

– Darren, Roofing Contract Manager
