Ethan, a Year 13 student from Silverstone UTC, joined Hawkins Steel Ltd for a 2-week work experience placement as part of his EAL Level Diploma in Engineering Technologies.
His objective was to explore all aspects of engineering, from design to manufacturing and broaden his skills and knowledge of engineering techniques. Ethan, with our team’s support, successfully designed and produced his own product, a set of household-use steps. Taking his concept from an idea to reality. In addition to delivering this project, he also acquired new skills by developing his CAD skills, was introduced to Tekla, and learned various welding techniques.
