Steel Work, Balconies and Balustrading

Hawkins Steel Ltd were delighted to partner with Drew Smith and be able to contribute to the brand-new housing with care complex in Southampton. Potters Court provides 83 housing with care apartments and another new block of 15 general needs flats. The accommodation, run by Southampton Council, will offer independent living for people with care and support needs.

Hawkins Steel were awarded the contract to supply, fabricate and install the following elements:

  • Corner, inset and standalone balcony structures
  • Balcony balustrading
  • Terrace balustrading
  • Staircase balustrading
  • Atrium and floor void balustrading
  • Vertical access ladders
  • Aluminium flooring
  • Secret fix balcony soffits
  • Masonry support beams
  • Canopy steel work
  • Curtain wall steel work
  • Corten planter installation

The Hawkins Steel team have demonstrated their commitment, expertise and high standards throughout the two year project. Solution orientated technical designs, accuracy and precision in the workshop fabrication, plus a positive attitude of the installation team delivered this project successfully and handed over to the client on programme. The team became the go to people onsite and went above and beyond to support the client in getting the project completed, no matter what the request.
