Hawkins Steel Ltd and our Drawing Office have been busy supporting students from local schools, including Blessed George Napier (BGN), North Oxfordshire Academy (NOA), Chenderit School and Magdalen College School, during their work experience placements.
As part of their project, the students were challenged to create a company name and logo, and to design and build a prototype product that could be taken to market as part of their own business idea.
The results have been fantastic, with prototypes including a football goal, golf practice net, trolley and crop cover being designed and manufactured.
A huge thank you goes to everyone in the Steel Office, Workshop and Drawing Office for giving up their time, sharing their knowledge and helping make the experience both enjoyable and valuable for the students.
It’s great to see so much enthusiasm and creativity from the next generation, and who knows, we may well have some future Welder Fabricators, Designers and Engineers in the making!
